The Hellenic Port Index platform has been developed and is curated within the framework of the research activities of the Laboratory of Coastal & Harbour Works (LCHW), Department of Civil Engineering, Democritus University of Thrace (DUTh).

DATA

Port data is drawn from the World Port Index (NGA, public domain). Wave climate statistics are derived from the Copernicus Marine Service Mediterranean Sea Waves Reanalysis — hourly fields since 1985, at 1/24° resolution.

Marine Data

Wave statistics are derived from the Copernicus Marine Service "Mediterranean Sea Waves Reanalysis" product (MEDSEA_MULTIYEAR_WAV_006_012; Med-WAV system, wave model WAM 4.6.2; 1/24° horizontal resolution; hourly fields from 1985 onward). Generated using E.U. Copernicus Marine Service Information.

Figures and visual elements published on this platform are either produced by the authors or sourced from materials that are in the public domain or distributed under licences that permit reuse. Design & Interface

All analytical statistics, workflows, and derived products — beyond the datasets and materials explicitly attributed above — have been developed by the authors. Detailed documentation will be released in future versions of the platform.

  • is intended solely for research and educational purposes;
  • does not constitute engineering, operational, or navigation advice;
  • may contain uncertainties inherent to numerical modelling and data processing;

The developers and the hosting institution assume no liability for any use or interpretation of the results.

The platform is under continuous development. Methods, datasets, and products may change without prior notice.
